THE NEW REPUBLIC
AMPERSAND

The New Republic reached out to create a short film featuring a unique ampersand for the magazine's signature series. The original concept included the use of a rare silvery chemical element, which can alternate between solid and liquids states — a quality explored to create this slow, pulsing, and haunting experimental video. The metallic ampersand comes to life and gradually morphs from a silvery puddle into a slick, almost glowing ampersand.
