We were commissioned by NIKE to create the "X" logo & the branding lettering for the 10th edition of the iconic Kobe shoe, which was use across marketing and as a visual signature to the dedicated concept store in LA. 

Inspired by the Black Mamba, as well as oozing with power, confidence, strength & darkness. In that perspective, for this project we wanted to create something sculptural & minimalist, bringing the type to life by adding an architectural feel to it. As a nod to the beautifully graphic scales of the mamba skin, we came up with the idea of modular lettering, playing with angle views to bring up some interesting light & shadow contrasts. We imagined our type composed of a construction of multiple layers stacked, with lines following the natural geometry of each letter & arranged in a graphic dimensional composition.
