NEW YORK TIMES
ISRAEL VS IRAN

To represent a feature about the historical hostilities between the two nations, we were asked us to create a powerful, war-torn piece that captured the essence of the political violence, without showing it explicitly. With the goal of making the type look very raw and as destroyed as possible while maintaining legibility, we created the headline treatment photographically in stages using various types of ashes and burning elements, composited everything together to convey the feel of heavy weapon conflict as well as to enhance the sense of scale in the final artwork.
