We were commissioned to illustrate a cover for a feature from award-winning war journalist Luke Mogelson about the incredible emergency doctors trying to help patients caught in the crossfire of the Afghan conflict in Kabul. Having to find balance in treating the most dramatic cases of injuries with skill & compassion, facing extreme violence, while being neutral between the parties involved in the war, the ER team are the ultimate pacifists. To convey their voice through the bloodshed, we created a bold yet humble title made of used bandages shot against a dark background.
